Crohn's disease (except for acute exacerbation)

Crohn's disease (except for acute exacerbation)

Crohn's disease characteristics: Crohn's disease is an inflammatory disease affecting different parts of the gastrointestinal tract, from the mouth to the anus, which tends to recur. The precise cause of Crohn's disease is not known. Trigger factors may be: trauma, infection, allergy, immune reactions, hormone disorder, neurogenous and psychogenous factors, and genetic factors. The mucosa in the intestine is soaked with blood, and coated in fibrin, with polyps and ulcers. The inflammatory process in Crohn's disease tends to spread in the adjacent areas. The main symptoms of Crohn's disease are abdominal pain, diarrhoea or constipation with nausea and vomiting, blood in faecal discharge, and fever. Therapy - dietary adjustments (bland food, low-waste diet), hormonal and immune-suppressive drugs, antibiotics, spasmolytics, surgical treatment - intestinal resection. Recurrence: 30 to 50 % in the afflicted.

Using magnetic therapy in Crohn's disease

Use of low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy: Positive anti-inflammatory, immuno-stimulating effects and stimulation of the healing process. It is recommended to begin applications in the non-acute stage, and apply on a long-term basis. At the beginning, twice a day (per 20 minutes, frequencies 2 - 25 Hz); after a month, continue to apply three times a day (30-45 minutes, frequencies 10 - 50 Hz).
